Review of Spa Therapy Handmade Soap and Vegan Deoderant

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Before I ever started selling on Etsy, I was a buyer – I found them in March and didn’t start selling until the end of August, so it was a big stretch where I was just looking at things to buy. One thing that I’m a fan of in general is bath and body products, so when my acne treatment ran out (darn that adult acne crap) I decided to try handmade. I choose Spa Therapy’s store because I heard great things about them on DIYScene, and their feedback was great on their store, plus the photos just look fun. I wish  I had to do soap photography over jewelry haha – it just looks like it would be a lot more fun.

The first thing I ordered was the black raspberry vegan deodorant. I’m not a big fan of store bought due to the fact that even though I’m sitting on my booty working from home all day long, I still have to reapply deodorant – I don’t know what is up with that, but it’s annoying. So with Spa Therapy’s deoderant, I was amazed at a few things. First off, it smells beautiful. Secondly, there is no residue. Thirdly, I don’t have to reapply all day long, and there’s this subtle raspberry scent all day long. I love it I love it I love it.

The second is the Tea Tree Lime Facial Soap. I’ve been switching between Proactive and Wexler treatments for my adult acne, but it really hasn’t been doing much but drying out my skin. Spa Therapy’s facial soap smells of lovely lime for sure, and it doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It also seems to be helping with the stubborn acne spots that have refused to be treated by anything for years. If this stuff has my face clear in a few weeks I’m going to take the 45 minutes to drive down to Baltimore and give them a great big hug.

Spa Therapy also sent me a free sample of their Ginger Vanilla soap – I cannot begin to describe how awesome this soap is. I’m totally a body wash girl, but I do believe this generous sample has gotten me back onto the soap train. It lathers great, leaves this amazing scent on my skin, and is just so wonderful. Count me converted to handmade bath and body products!
