The Phat Hemp Studios

Like many handmade jewelry makers across the country, I’m pretty much working out of a studio carved out of the little bit of bedroom between the wall, the wardrobe, and the bed. So pretty much I have a table and that’s about it – but you know what, the great thing about having a small business like this is that I don’t need to have all sorts of overhead or room. All I need is a pair of scissors, my hemp board, and that rather ominous looking tote that is actually filled to the brim with hemp and beads.

That’s my current pile of hemp, just barely contained in the top of the tote. I do need to grab a few more colors, but right now I am super overloaded on thick natural hemp and brown hemp. I don’t know how it happened, but I managed to end up with four spools of the brown hemp there – while I do indeed love brown, I don’t think I love it quite THAT much. I’ve had some time to make a few new designs that will be going up to the Phat Hemp store over the next few days – here’s a preview of those:

Finally, I got a good shot of the unofficial Phat Hemp mascot, my three legged black cat Tripod.
