So I’ve never bought a house before – hell I never expected to be buying a house at 25 to begin with. But here I am, after spending two years cleaning up my credit and getting my income up to where it needs to be to qualify for the house that I’m after. We’ve had three sets of house showings so far – one was for a for sale by owner farmette that was charming and cute, but the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms were far too small and oddly shaped – wouldn’t have fit most furniture.

The second house (fireplace of which is posted above) is our current top one. I have about two weeks before I get all my client payments in for my downpayment + reserves, but if this one is still up on the market then I am going to be all over it. Our third showings were three houses – one was sold already, although we took a look inside to get an idea of what a new construction house would be like (very nice kitchen but no charm at all :( ) the second was completely ass and nothing like the listing pictures, plus we got attacked by flies! The third house is a back up in case our main choice gets snapped up – it’s as big, but a different location and not quite as cool. Finally we have a fourth showing tomorrow at another new construction house – and possibly a fifth as we consider a completely different area.

I have to say that I didn’t expect this to be so damn exhausting – I am pooped!
